A short booklet by a former resident of the Stracathro on the evidence for the Romans and the Middle Ages in Angus and Kincardineshire/South Aberdeenshire. It is an antiquarian book, with its usual mixture of facts and surmise and in this case a large number of place-name problems. Its advantage is the fact that WG Don lived in Stracathro during his youth and the book contains some useful information on the state of the monuments around the middle of the 19th century, as also a number of farm names that have fallen out of use by the First Edition OS map.
